DC TOUCHDOWN CLUB AWARDS DINNER PRESENTED BY XCELERATE SOLUTIONS TO HONOR COMMANDERS MANAGING PARTNER JOSH HARRIS AS WELL AS LOCAL STARS AND MORE

Washington Commanders Managing Partner Josh Harris, who is stewarding the next chapter of the franchise, will receive the prestigious Founder’s Award at the DC Touchdown Club Awards Dinner presented by Xcelerate Solutions on Thursday, April 9, in Bethesda, Md.

Dinner tickets and Touchdown Club memberships are now on sale as the Touchdown Club honors the best and brightest in the National Capital Region’s football community. Other honorees include Redskins legends Jeff Bostic and Rick “Doc” Walker, Commanders Pro Bowl punter Tress Way, Navy standouts Blake Horvath and Landon Robinson and longtime Seneca Valley High football coach Terry Changuris, as well as the high school players and coach of the year.

“It’s another wonderful slate of award winners!” Military Bowl Foundation President & Executive Director Steve Beck said. “We look forward to honor everyone and celebrate their achievements. Josh Harris and his team have restored the region’s pride and interest in the team. The 2025 football team might be the best Navy team ever, thanks in part to its star players. And while Doc Walker is usually part of our team at the event, serving as the Awards Dinner emcee, this year we are thrilled to turn the tables and recognize Doc for all that he has done for the National Capital Region’s football community.”

The full lineup of award winners is:

  • Founder’s Award: Josh Harris. Grew up in Chevy Chase and wrestled at The Field School in Washington, D.C., and the University of Pennsylvania. Now he is one of the most influential people in professional sports as Managing Partner of the Commanders, the NHL’s New Jersey Devils and the NBA’s Philadelphia 76ers, as well as Co-Founder of Unrivaled Sports, a premier youth sports platform, and Founder of Harris Philanthropies.

  • Career Achievement Award: Rick “Doc” Walker. Southern California native is in his fifth decade as part of the local football community. A tight end for the Redskins from 1980 to 1985, he was part of the Fun Bunch and helped the team win Super Bowl XVII. After his playing career, he seamlessly moved into the media and is prominent on local television, radio and podcasts.

  • Career Achievement Award: Jeff Bostic. Center was a mainstay during the Redskins’ heyday, playing 14 seasons and helping the team win three Super Bowl championships. Was selected to the Pro Bowl in 1983. Following his playing career, worked as a radio analyst.

  • Washington Metro Pro Player of the Year: Tress Way, Washington Commanders. Punter is a 12-year veteran and three-time Pro Bowl selection, Since joining the team in 2014, Way has cemented himself as one of the NFL’s top punters. This past season, he led the NFL in percentage of punts downed inside the 20-yard line and opponent’s average starting field position after punts. 

  • Washington Metro College Players of the Year: Blake Horvath and Landon Robinson, Navy. The tandem led the Midshipmen to an 11-2 record, recording consecutive seasons with at least 10 wins for the first time ever. Horvath, a quarterback, was the first FBS player in eight years to have consecutive seasons with at least 1,000 yards rushing and passing. Robinson, a nose guard, was Navy’s first first-team All-American by the Associated Press in 40 years.

  • Circle of Legends: Terry Changuris, Seneca Valley. One of the most successful coaches in Maryland high school football history, guided the Screamin’ Eagles to seven state championships and a 158-31 record during his 16-year tenure.

  • Maryland High School Player of the Year: Manny Iheanacho, Georgetown Prep. Massive yet agile two-way lineman was dominant on both sides of the ball as the Little Hoyas shared the Interstate Athletic Conference title. One of the nation’s top recruits, he has signed with the University of Oregon.

  • Virginia High School Player of the Year: Kedric Golston II, Stone Bridge. Son of the former Washington Redskins linebacker, Golston emerged as a dominant force himself as the Bulldogs advanced to the Virginia 5A semifinals. Made 120 tackles with 13 sacks, forced six fumbles, recovered four fumbles and scored three defensive touchdowns. Has enrolled at the University of Tennessee.

  • Washington, D.C., High School Player of the Year: Tariq Boney, St. John’s. Defensive end continually made an impact despite facing regular double-teams. Made 20 tackles for loss and had 12 sacks for the Cadets. Signed with the University of Michigan.

  • Washington Metro High School Coach of the Year: Rick Conner, Linganore. A fixture on the Lancers’ sideline since 2002, guided the Frederick County school to a 15-0 record and the Maryland 3A championship this season, his fourth state title as a head coach. Career record of 236-55.
